Components

The Components Feature is a new, intuitive way to expand content modeling capabilities. In the past, Content Creators have been restricted to rigid content structures which can slow down content creation and make it difficult to create more customized content types. With the introduction of Components, teams can create reusable content templates which can be used across different content models making content creation significantly faster by reducing complexity (and increasing flexibility).

  • Our team uses Hygraph to push breaking news stories to our project's webpage. The project is a part of a large non-profit initiative and the goal is to feature current content (news stories, celebrity endorsements). Authors are able to quickly add content to the CMS without sacrificing the high quality our readers expect.

  • We are building heavily for mobile devices, so using GraphQL for our content APIs is really helping our app performance. Our developers also love the code autocomplete function and the self-generated API documentation in the API Explorer. Quite intuitive UI for business users."" Markus H. CEO"

Basic Component

This is the most restrictive choice as it only allows one Component ensuring Content Creators are limited to the number of components due to the content needs of the desired output. A good instance of when a Basic Component would work is in the case of adding a collection of fields that would be necessary to create a hero with a singular content requirement or Field Type.
